Every year MEDRIX sponsors multiple Integrated Management of Childhood Illness (IMCI) classes in Vietnam. This World Health Organization course trains medical professionals in best practices to reduce childhood death, illness and disability. Here is a letter that one of the doctors who graduated from the program wrote to MEDRIX:

“Dear Donors of IMCI (Pediatric) Training,
My names is Dr. Nguyen (real name changed)- I am a medical doctor. Recently, I was given a chance to be trained in IMCI in the Pediatric Department of Hue Central HOspital. I found out that IMCI is very helpful, effective program for primary health care in the community. This program introduced me to the simple treatment guidelines and easy to apply which helped me and my colleagues feel very convenient in approaching and caring for the sick children in my location. A lot of serious cases have been recognized and given correct treatment or shifted to teh Central Hospital in time to save the patients’ lives.

Therefore, I am writing this letter of THANKS to MEDRIX donors for their great support to improve our skills. We hope in the time to come, IMCI will be continually supported to train more health workers who work in the community.

With sincere thanks,
Dr. Nguyen”
